Mary's life began on May 16th, 1932 in Dowagiac, MI. The daughter of Wallace and Phoebe (Biek) Luthringer. Mary was known as the neighborhood cat lady for her love and devotion to all cats. She also loved the holidays, mainly Christmas and Easter. Mary was an active member of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, and started a weekly food drive. Mary worked for James Heddon and Sons for many years and The Wolverine Mutual Insurance for 21 years. She was a second mom to all who knew her. Mary was united in marriage to Robert Boughan for 25 years, after his passing, she then married Bill Sorensen. Her loving family includes her daughters Diana Perez Moreno of Lawrence, MI and Karen Louise Boughan of Dowagiac, MI, sister Margaret (Charles) Geegan of Dowagiac, sister in law Barbara Luthringer of Dowagiac, special niece and nephew Mary Ann Middleton and John Luthringer; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grand children In addition to her parents and her first husband Mary was preceded in death by her brothers John and Jim, Luthringer. Mary passed away at Cass County Medical Facility Monday, January 9, 2012. Her family will gather with friends on Sunday January 15 from 3-5 with a prayer service being held at 4:30 at Yazel & Clark Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Maternity Catholic Church on Monday, January 16, at 1 P.M. led by Father Kevin. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Memorial contributions in Mary's name can be directed to St. Vincent DePaul or to Holy Maternity Of Mary Catholic Church..
